Individuals

Individual therapy involves only you and your mental health professional. It can benefit individuals of all ages wanting to reduce feelings of distress, improve relationships, or find solutions to specific problems. We also offer customized therapy for people of all ages for a variety of mental health challenges.

Some issues psychotherapy can help with include the following:

  • Difficulties in coping with daily life or medical conditions.

  • Specific mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, personality disorders, and more.

  • Behavioral conditions including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder, and more.

  • Stress

  • Anger

  • Trauma (physical or emotional).

  • Coping with acute or chronic illness, such as multiple sclerosis, cancer, stroke, Chronic pain, or an autoimmune disease.

  • The death of a loved one and grief.

  • Divorce or relationship issues.

Couples

Couples therapy can facilitate the opportunity for you and your partner to discuss and resolve issues related to several aspects of your relationship. We will typically schedule five therapy sessions and will evaluate to see if goals are being met or re-conceptualized. In the first session, the therapist will help you identify developmental goals with your family and you as a couple.

Families

Family therapy is a form of treatment designed to address specific issues affecting the health and functioning of a family. Family therapy can be used to help a family through a difficult period, a major transition, or mental or behavioral health problems in family members.  A therapist will guide clients in setting goals as a family. If the court or its representatives (e.g., Special Master, 790 Evaluator, Reunification Specialist) specify goals or set dates of service, we will follow them and, when possible, conduct therapy at a mutually agreed time. Once goals are established, we will work towards meeting and evaluating the outcome.
